Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on what direction I needed to head in.
As the title states the slide doesn't lock back, on empty, when I use Wilson Combat 7-rd mags in my STI Guardian, .45acp version. When I use the factory 6-rd mag everything works as it should.
Something else I've noticed is that when inserting the WC mags there is a little resistance on the mag at about 3/4 of the way in. A hair bit more of a push and it seats just fine. The factory 6-rd goes in smooth.
Both mags work great when firing, chambering and extracting.

What I want is a 7-rd capability and for the slide to lock back on empty.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like the mag follower - the shelf on the left-hand side (that makes contact with the slide-stop) has probably worn down a bit, being plastic.

Try the cmc power mag, with its metal follower

Is the mag new or used? Sounds like it may be worn or damaged.

Have you tried any other mags?

Get the Tripp Super 7 kit for your Wilsons and you will not have a problem.

Sorry - but if you just go in and tweak the followers as needed, you don't need to buy anything else for 'em. I routinely run WWII-era mags on my 1911's with no issues.

I'll be able to look into it a little more when I get home on Wednesday.
I'll follow up with what I find.

Another issue to watch for is riding the slide stop while firing.
