    Howdy folks,
my good friend bought a Kimber Rapide in .45 caliber recently. Great piece, nice tight tolerances, shoots well.
However, his thumb magazine release seems very stiff, much stiffer than any of my 1911s.
I assume the fix would be as simple as replacing/modifying the release spring but I wanted to ask here whether anybody else has had the same problem.
I just wonder whether it's a one-off or if all Kimbers (or all Rapide models) have such a stiff release button.
Thank you in advance for any useful replies.

(and if y'all behave and don't hijack the thread, I just might post some pictures for y'all to drool over :) )

The mag catch and spring are fine, take them out and replace everything else.

So, if it is not to your liking, contact Kimber before you start playing with it yourself...

(And I've carried a Kimber Tactical Ultra II for over 20 years now and it has never failed me.)

My kimber doesn’t feel any different than my others. I’d say either send it to them or open it up and see if there is something preventing it from moving as normal.
