    Does anyone know why The Russians had a Plum Bolt and Non-Plum Bolt for the SVT-40 ? Why Did the Russians Do this ?

    My best guess......it was done during re-arsenal....my plum bolt has an electro penciled number as does the one on the above photo....

    It was reblued during the refurb process. It was originally left in the white by the factory. The plum color comes from the high nickel content in the metal.
