Would running in 'night ops' benefit from the oversize handle?

Would like to hear a response from a group of combat snipers on the question. No disrespect to anyone on here if your/were one.

I'm no sniper or anything of the such but imo no it wouldn't. Once you are familiar with your system placement of the bolt and manipulation is second nature. For years the military snipers used rem 700 actions with factory bolt handles which are on the smaller side of average imo.

I've shot a few matches in the dark and both of my actions are small bolt handle (see pic) compared to the common badger ord style knobs. I had zero issues whatsoever and at the last one it was even misting/raining/foggy. 4424d370c1344cb2f8c82e6df11337ea.jpg

I think it's a "mine is bigger than yours" thing. Looks stupid to me.

This for me. My Savage 10-P came with the oversized bolt handle. I bought it for the 5R bull barrel.

I’m thinking about putting a Bell & Carlson Varmint stock in black with red spider webs on mine, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet.

The only time I can really think of that I needed more leverage was with a Mosin. I think I just beat the bolt handle open with whatever solid thing was near by.

I had a few like that in Alaska because they were easier to manipulate with gloves but overall it's not really necessary
