    Yeah, that ought to go over well for his 2020 election hopes. He should have pulled this in 2017 when Republicans had the House.

    Question: if he does lay-off all of these people will their combined salaries be enough to get the money that he wants for the wall?

    But the win is long term if there is no backfill for attrition. The personnel overhead forecasts shrink future year expenditures allowing the outyear money to be reprogrammed. Then, the next logical step is less revenue required = less tax burden.

    Can't believe you're using both those terms, "logical" and "less tax" so close together! And "repurposed" used by the government can take on several very different meanings.

    Government and logic do not work well together. I don't really see a drop in taxation happening.
