Just figured I would share this to keep the hope alive.

One of the younger fellers I work with (early - mid 20's) had been talking about getting an AR-15 for some time. During the memorial day sales I turned him onto a PSA kit with a built upper and all the lower parts. He lined up a cash deal stripped lower. I borrowed him the tools to put it all together.

I gave him some general pointers on lower assembly. He is fairly savvy with hand tools so he was home free. He just sent me a vid of him shooting it.

Kid is totally into it. Already talking about another one but he wants to build the upper also this time. I am digging around all my spare bits to fine something else to kick his way. Probably a mag or something.

    Out here by the lake!
While I was still working one of the grocery sakers that knew me took the groceries out to the wife trunk. As he made room he noticed both live & spent 5.56 that littered her trunk. That piqued his interest so he asked the wife, she bacsically knows the rules of fight club & told him to ask me.

We got to talking about guns AR;s in particular. I told him at his age he sould begetting at least one lower a month. Explained to him the ease of essembling stripped receivers & how a stripped was a firearm & could be built as a pistol.

H was into collectable shoes at the time. I kind of laughed that those shoes could never fight tyranny as well as an AR. Explained things like even with out guns buying certain calibers of ammo made great long term investment.

I got transferred & only seen him if I was going to pick up a RX at the store. He said he bought his first AR and was now adding things to it. He was also waiting for a shoe deal to go threw to buy son stripped lowers. This was back when
primary Arms was really cranking out deals on Aero Precision stripped lowers.

It's amazing how easy it is to convert anyone who is not a zealously anti-gun lunatic.

My sister and BIL were terrified of guns, "oh, they're so horrible" all that snowflake nonsense. My sister was visiting, wanted to talk about some things but I was going to the range. I told her she was welcome to come along, and we could talk all morning at the range. One single trip to the range was all it took.

Fast forward just 1 year and 2 months and now they have his/her 1911s, 2 ARs, 2 Benelli M-4s, and have sent their son to get firearms training in 2 states so that they can feel better (their son lives in AZ and carries wherever he goes). They are very wealthy and do not understand the word "No", so it has freaked them out that they can't buy suppressors and SBRs just by whipping out their credit card, so now they are donating to Republican election campaigns and the whole 9 yards.

My AR and two Glocks total to about 1500-1700. I could’ve been productive with it but decided to become a gun nut. Let’s not mention the ammo either.

My mind is like: if it goes boom then it goes boom. Regardless, I just love all firearms. AKs, ARs, Glocks, 1911s, all them good stuff. And don’t get me started on how expensive or uncommon is 6.5 is.
