The sad thing is that every time I get on an airplane, I have to triple check all of my bags. My clothes closet is where all my crap goes after I shoot. My luggage is in there too. Ya know, you better know where your empty brass is - for the children's sake and all.
Lol I throw it all in my door pockets when I’m cleaning up. Though now that I’m in euless for a while and not in the mountains of Oregon, I will have to use a range.

Looked it up. To have a gun in D.C., you need a permit/registration, and you're only allowed to have ammo in calibers for guns you got registered. This includes reloadable empties! No "peaceable journey" laws to protect people from other states traveling to/through D.C.

AKA the future of gun "rights" in America

We live in nowhere Texas. I didn't think it would happen here. Every boy (and most girls) hunt from when they are young. A boy in HS was found to have shotgun shells in the car in the school parking lot. He had left them after hunting one day. The school tried to make a big deal out of it. But, Texas common sense took charge and eventually the issue went away.

There are about 4 southern states I travel to. Beyond that I have no plans to visit anywhere. And even being a retired cop I avoid the police in all states. Every county and state have obscure regulations to entrap people they decide not to like. I dream of the Air and Space Museum but doubt I will ever visit. If my car were searched I know both empties and loaded ammo would be lurking in places I don't see. Not to mention the spare stuff there in case the opportunity to shoot a deranged soda can might arise.

Can somebody clarify the law for me.

I'm wondering if this whole thread passes the whiff test.

    Registering firearms I get.
Though "registered ammo" I can't seem to verify that that's a thing.

That link above......a DC police site.
I find nothing about registering ammunition.
    Bogus claim??? Fake news???
You don't actually register the ammo; however, if you have a registered firearm, any ammo of that caliber is "registered" on your behalf. If you happen to have any ammo of calibers other than a registered firearm of yours, then you are in possession of unregistered ammunition.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I'm saying that's how they're doing it. And it sucks.

I've read that earlier in this thread.
I don't see it in the law.

I could have a registered .44 mag with ammo and a loose .22lr round in my trunk would be breaking the law??

    Agree that that would suck.

I just did not see it in the written law.

    Anybody have a reference??

I cannot find it in the law. I've seen it stated, although unreferenced.

    Link ???
    May be "fake law".

These forums need to stick to accurate dissemination of information.
Disinformation is not in the best interest of our cause!

I'm a stickler for precision in language.
    What is the law?
