Lewis and Clark used the Girandoni air rifle on their expedition through the Northwest. It propelled a 210 gr, .46 cal ball from a 20 round magazine and had an effective range of approximately 125 yards. It was capable of firing 30 shots from a full air reservoir, but took 1,500 strokes from a hand pump to refill it.
They used it very effectively to keep from being attacked too.

The natives weren't aware that it would only shoot 20 rounds. They thought it would fire endlessly.

The lake formed by the Ice Harbor Dam in Washington state was named after Lewis and Clark's guide, Sacajawea.

...people who are currently incapable of posting...

    Hmmm.... interesting comment.
I am interested to know: is this an individual decision or a “committee” decision?
And is it always so? (Just curious how that works)

    [serious question.....
or well, at least a semi-serious question]

Cows have four stomachs. And can eat themselves to death especially on grain. (I’ve seen it happen with cows that got loose in a corn field). They have no sense of “being full”. And they’re not the only animal like that!

You can stick your hand in the side of a living cow and pull out the contents of one of the stomachs.

One of the primary founders of America’s space program who worked for NASA was a Nazi Party member and held the rank of ‘Major’ in the SS. But still, it’s probably a good thing Wernher von Braun wound up here as opposed to having been shipped “east” in 1945.

I believe most of the decisions are decided by the moderating group but not positive.

Now, considering we are down to just a few active moderators I don't think the term "group" really applies.

You may not know that the moderators have their own secret section to discuss such issues.
