As a child my family lived next door to a golf course in the Bahamas, stepfather was an avid golfer, and me and my buddy used to spend hours looking for lost golf balls that we would sell back to the golfers for 25 cents each.

Is it just me or does it seem most bond referendums are in the Billion dollar range now?
I do not believe that there is any entity of any size, that is capable of managing the spending of a Billion dollars. There is just too much opportunity for grift and unaccountable spending.
There should be a $5 million dollar max. Or else individuals should be personally responsible for all errors or waste.

When I lived in Dallas, they’d recently passed a $500 bond measure to fix city streets.

The city manager stated he needed 10x that amount.

The genius who invented Bean Dip was ripped off by 2 guys wanting to create a use for chick peas. They pureed the chick peas & added spices to make a dip that is almost edible. But one thoughtfully noted "Who is gonna buy something called Pea Dip?" And his partner wondered aloud "Hmmm, us?"
