Do not buy Hexmags, they don’t fit right.

Interesting, I was just looking at those at Top Brass on Thursday. They didn't have any 30 round PMAGs on the mag wall, so I was contemplating alternatives. Then I noticed they had a case of PMAGs by the front register. I mentioned it might be a good idea to put a few on the magazine wall as I almost left believing they were sold out of them!

I always like to do research before buying unknown items. Glad I held off, although once I found the PMAGs, they would have gone back to the mag wall anyway!

There were some for $7 at Las Cruces . I thought “how bad could they be”? Had to sand them to get them to drop out when empty.

My AUG and ARs run flawlessly with stanag, magpul & thermold magazines.

We’ve tried in a Colt, S&W M&P, Sundevil, couple Spike’s, Bushmaster M17 and Sig 516. They feed all of them ok, just will not drop free like USGI, Magpul and IWI.
    That’s a nothing burger.

But hex mags are one of the weakest.

I have used all sorts of mags over my lifetime. I like the regular metal GI mags as a staple. But the best mags I have ever used in my life are the OKAY industries Surefeed E2 mags. Unfortunately I have heard that they have stopped making them. These mags will reliably feed all milspec ammo including M995A1. So if it runs that stuff, It will run most of your longer funky custom reloads.
