    Technically not a pet, but as much as I feed them they kind of are.

    Just sprayed PAM on the pole. Maybe that will slow them down.

    I forget the exact numbers, but a squirrel can jump laterally and vertically quite a ways. You can spray Spam on the pole until the cows come home but with the fence being so close, save it. I have many bird feeders with the squirrel guards they can;t climb around. We were very amused though at how they jumped from our Crepe Myrtle way over to a feeder with peanuts. Getting down was no issue for them, just drop.
