Texas Hot Sauce Recommendations Needed

I want to send some local hot sauces to a friend of mine out of state. Anybody have any recommendations for good local hot sauces that they like?

Mrs. Renfro’s I believe they are Ft. Worth based.

I like the Habenaro salsa as it has good flavor and a good working heat. The Ghost pepper is great if you want lots of heat. The Jalapeño is not bad, but I prefer a little more heat.

There are about 14 different varieties of salsa in their product lineup.

We use a lot of Cholula hot sauce. Not made in Texas, but south of the border in Mexico.

We found this Yellowbird Jalapeno Condiment sauce at a taco place in Bandera. Liked it so much, we went and bought some at HEB. It has a nice conbination of tangy and heat. Not super hot, just a nice amount of warmth there. It's made in San Marcos, so local.

When the wife and I visit Gruene, we always visit the Gruene General Store. They have an entire wall, from floor to ceiling, that is stocked all sorts of hot sauces. It's fun just looking at the names of them!

All I could find in the freezer yesterday were some leg quarters! So I grilled them, along with some hot dogs for chili cheese dogs tonight. Tomorrow, I will make some hot wing sauce and finish cooking them in the oven.

They gonna be some big hot wings!
