2011 was rough. No doubt about it.
Hot and dry. Smoke filled the air.
    Thanks for the reminder.
I'll slog through the mud and not complain.

2011 was the year I came to texas. I dropped the wife off to a cool green paradise in early april and moved the family to a hot dry hell hole not much different than the one I left in August.

So the north side of your house faces 1750, that puts you after the curve. I'm on the east side of 1750 just before the curve.

    Actually ar

Actually 2010 around East Texas was a very hot and dry summer.
Yeah, but here in West Texas we don't always realize any particular summer gonna be "the worst" til it's too late 'cause it's so dang hot nearly all the time. Hit 90 today in the Greater Potosi Metropolitan Area and it's only April. 'Course it'll only be 69 for the high today, Thursday the 9th.

In East Texas, I predict the early part of summer is going to be hot and really humid, with the end of summer being much drier.

Mosquitoes are going to be bad this year.
From my non-scientific research, southeast Texas weather is very similar to the coastal South Carolina weather, hot and humid summer.
As far as the mosquitoes, my wife is a magnet to them, therefore, they leave me alone.

~90° warmest its been so far this year, mostly rain and then some more rain.

Didn't get cold enough over winter, bugs are gonna be bad. On the plus side mosquitoes don't seem to like me.
