We did today. I think I know the place you are saying.

This is at the Geographical Exhibit in the middle of one of the trails at cdri. Pretty cactus (idk name) with Mitre Peak in the background there at the center. I found the hiking trail challenging for me, yet very enjoyable. We hiked two hours including rests. We will hike above Fort Davis National Park tomorrow, after swimming at Balmorhea State Park in the am.

It's not very pretty when you are a teen climbing into a tree to deer hunt and fall butt first into one of them. The morning was spent picking thorns.

Ft. Davis, itself, is very interesting and pretty cool to walk around.

In the early 80’s my I would visit family and ride horses in the Davis Mountains and all around Alpine, it was beautiful, particularly when we’d come across Elk.

Seeing. these pics makes me want to head West for vacation.
