    Well crap!
There goes my Mad Max Furry Road build.
Anyone want to buy a used M113 frame and engine with a 1970 Dodge Charger chassis on top?

A fella I️ know brought an Ariel atom imported here, paid big $$$$ in taxes, was street legal for a few yrs. then state decided to rescind their decision, he’s got a very expensive off-road vehicle/track car now

And yet the state is silent about all those tagged golf carts in port A. Never have understood how they please the crown yet a sxs that can go close to if not over the speed limit is a no go.

I haven't seen a dune buggy around in years.

I believe that's still legal. The title go's with the running gear. Technically...you didn't make it and therefore didn't have to apply for a title. You customized it.

Think modern. Put a 2010 charger body on top. Leather seats and tint. Loud speaker behind the grill to blare the rock music.

The article from one of the links provided said that slingshots were also illegal. I had to look that one up. Its made by Polaris and has 2 wheels in front and one in rear and is driven from the rear. I have seen two in my area alone. Maybe those titles were revoked recently too. There are going to be LOTS of unhappy ex-motorists. One poster in the other forum said Texas was the only state that outlawed them.

If you have a hand made vehicle you don’t need ref for it, just display Person Use Only label on them.

As I understand it, slingshots are federally legal as motorcycles, and some states are giving them a different MC class so no helmet required.

Seen the CanAm version on the road fairly often, called a Spyder iirc.
