Been waiting for someone to pipe up with the answer on this, but it looks like folks may not be aware. This is Facebook helping ..... themselves to your most intimate data possible. It's a 'feature' called SMS forwarding, and it only works on Android because it's a privacy nightmare that Apple won't allow. Android allows an app to get access to anything on your phone just by asking, and most people of course click OK without reading the notification. The user just wants to use the app, and that button is in their way. The faster they click it the happier they are. What did it say? "Uhhh, I dunno." Bam. Owned.
Facebook "says" your texts aren't uploaded to their servers. Some people probably believe them too.
