    Yes, it's from May 2019 but I agree with everything they said.

    Bottom line: dentistry doesn't have the same amount of science to guide treatment like medicine does. So, you have to rely on the integrity of the dentist to guide you.

    Not that medicine is perfect. Sometimes the "science" is muddled or your specific condition doesn't exactly align with studies.

    For years, I've warned my Friends in Dentistry to control their fees. Now the democrats are putting dentistry under medicare. Fees here in LA are absurd. I was referred by our Dental School for "endo" on a bicuspid at an outside practice. When the Endodontist said I owed $1,800, I replied that the guys in Houston were charging around $850 for the same service. He said "I've given you a $300 courtesy discount". This prompted me to discuss dental fees with several friends in Texas & Florida. The fees in New Orleans and Lafayette are over twice those of nearby states.
