Yes. My regular vet wanted $800 to spay Bait. But if you check, there is a program her where you can take in pets for neutering for $65. Usually connected to the ASPCA. I think the call it Humane Heroes here. They should have something similar there.
It is done by volunteer vets, one day a week, and they do a bunch in one day.

I paid $428.88 for a spay just over a year ago. $300 for the procedure and the remaining was drugs, collar and mostly bloodwork/labs.

    Out here by the lake!
More of the constant crap they feed Americans. Vets vary greatly from the city to the country. The rescue my wife got got a free nut job. Or if you want to say the $125.00 the rescue got paid for it.

City vet I had in Houston might as well just treated crats. The Bitch straight up did not like dogs. Every time we went in was the rant about the boys balls. When Covid hit you could no longer even go inside.

I hope fleas are not a problem as it’s more crap that vets phuc pet owners with.

Something extraordinary would have to happen for me to get another dog. Then again it was 4 days ago I put my boy down. I lucked into a vet that did it without trying to guilt me into something before putting him down

    Wife adopted a kitten.
6 months later, it had an abscess.

Vet says $600, most of that cost being anesthesia.

Vets says spay/neutered is subsidized, if you spay the kitten at the same time, it’ll cost $200 to drain the abscess and spay the cat.

Guess who got spayed that day

    In the woods...
I had my female Rhodesian neutered about a year ago.

Had her rear dew claws removed at the same time. They kept her over night.

    $280 total.

I've had male dogs neutered, or helped others get their dogs neutered at low cost clinics. Usually the bill was anywhere from $50-$90, depending on the size/weight of the animal.

My girlfriend works with animal rescue, and they routinely have groups that sponsor and provide the service for free in various neighborhoods. You don't normally have to show any financial proof to qualify, even though the events are usually held in economically depressed neighborhoods. Funny thing is, they always have openings because people in those economically depressed areas don't want their dogs neutered or spayed, or won't even go through the trouble of having it done for free. Go figure...

Depending on where you are, I would look around.

Promise to hold him down and I'll do it for half that.
