Interesting video. I had never heard of Grandcamp.

The French had only recently renamed the ship ‘’GrandCamp’’. The explosions were at the Port of Texas City, SW of the famous ‘’Texas City Dyke’’. The area is only some 2 miles from the UTMB Med School & John Sealy Hospital.

There really was not a "Port of Texas City". Just docks at the petrochemical plants. The Grandcamp was docked at Monsanto.

Also, the 1900 storm also hit Texas City.

I did not know about the 1947 “Grandcamp” disaster.
