So last night, my great uncle, Joe, was letting his little dog out to use the restroom before bed. His dog, Claudette, runs towards something, and it turns out to be a raccoon. The raccoon attacks the charging dog. Joe goes and grabs a gun and takes the shot. Fragments of the bullet hit Claudette as well, so she had to go into surgery, but she will be fine. He is having me clean the gun he used, which is a 6" S&W .357 Mag (not sure the model, maybe one of you can tell me). This thing is nice!!

Purty pistol. Been around too many dogs that get shot quail hunting. Bird flies low, dog breaks, dumb-ass hunter shoots and nails dog. Never any fun.

Note to Uncle Joe: Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Having said that, I once shot a possum raiding the hen house for eggs.

I had a clean shot, and the 9mm FMJ went right through him then hit a cinder block foundation. The bullet fragmented and nicked one of my best egg layers. That hen was pissed. It only winged her, but she clucked for three days before she laid another egg.
