The Gun Range in Killeen just got inspected and is facing $214,387 in OSHA fines for high lead levels. From the linked press report it sounds like someone dropped a dime on them. So that's nice.

Any of you Killeen guys know anything about this? Have they closed their doors?

If OSHA wants to go by the letter of the law and their interpretation of it, they can shut down or massively fine just about any business out there.

How many ranges have you been to that had folks cleaning up with HEPA vacuums? Or that would fail a lead exposure test during the day while folks were actively using the range?

If OSHA shows up, the only safe option is to temporarily close the business and all employees go on lunch break.

I don't think you can. Best you can do is allow them access with no one working and no customers ( = no hazard)

Not one dime of that goes to employees that may have been harmed.

Screw OSHA. Another out of control entity.

I have heard rumors, but this is the first time I have seen anything concrete. Have not been there but have talked on the phone with them and talked to customers. I personally know several.
They all talk about what a clean place it is. Although expensive. When I called, I was told that steel case ammo, bi-metal and non-jacketed ammo was not allowed. No solid lead projectiles.

Something fishy somewhere. The last time I went to Red's, it was filthy. And this place has been open less than a year I think.
