So dropped a bid on GB for one of these after watching Colion Nior's review this week. Apparently others saw it. The bidding on that particular item has topped 4 digits... I think I'll wait a while... It did look cool though but not that cool $$$$

Is it really? I looked at Herstal Group and looks like they own FN, Browning, Meroku and Winchester but.... umarex?

Umarex makes a lot of different rimfire pistols and rifles that are licensed by the owner of the trademark.

This is an Umarex gun supposedly with engineering collaboration from FN:

I will say, it does appear to be of better build quality than a typical Umarex offering but that's just based on pictures. I'm in no rush to acquire one myself.

I learned something today! Thanks! That's a good day. I've had a few of their airsoft guns but had no idea they did "real steel".

I have never been impressed enough to pay the asking price for anything they make looks cool but costs too much. Their first Gen MP5’s were massive pita to clean and had some pretty crap parts that broke easy. Sig dropped the 522 to around the same time and it felt better and from what I remember didn’t have the same issues.

I was under the impression the 502 was being made by FN. I haven't had any issues with Umarex guns that were licensed from their respective companies but it does take away some of the inherent panache the gun would have if was exclusively made by FN. I was looking forward to the 502...now, I'm on the fence.

    Huh…TIL

To me, Umarex is known for .22LR replica pistols that may or may not run.

Knowing this info…I’m a brand snob and wouldn’t trust my life to a 509.

Well to be clear, Umarex is making the 502 which is .22 LR. FN is still making the 509.
