I paid $450 for my Rock Island GI model 1911A1 at Cabela's last year. Of course it's got the old GI style sights and an extreme lack of bells and whistles, but I don't mind that one bit.

I've got a Kimber full-size Custom Target model that I use for a bench mark 1911 for accuracy:

    Kahr/Auto Ordance -- much better.

    Ruger SR1911 -- better yet.

Springfield Range Officer -- just as good.

Desert Eagle G1911 -- no better, but sweetest slide to frame fit than all others.

Glock 21SF -- hate the platform, but shot best of all the above.

I digress, but the Citadel 1911 in 9mm will knock the eyeball out of a mosquito at 25 yards!

I am thinking about getting my first 1911 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Tisas 1911. From what I have read it is very well made and has good reviews at Buds Gun Shop and can be bought for $400-$600 depending on the model. Any input or other suggestions would be appreciated, I would like to stay under $650.
