My wife was born and raised in Corpus. She has hinted for years that she would like to get back closer to family. Her parents own a restaurant and are planning on opening a second location and could use her help. I'm having issues at my job up here and am not too enthused about being here much longer. Shit has gone south. Last week I had a huge blow out with a lazy bum at work. My boss doesn't act like a boss and let's this guy sleep, watch movies, and scream obscenities on the phone to his ex wife all the time. I am Sick of it. I only make around 40k a year. I have some savings and we are renting here in New Braunfels. I have looked and it seems there is plenty of work in Corpus. It's really starting to look like a good idea. My major concearn is having somewhere to shoot. I have never been to a decent range in corpus. Is there an outdoor range anywhere in the area, where I can shoot rifles? I don't mind shooting handguns indoor but not so much rifles. I'm not opposed to paying an annual membership if it's worth it. Talk me into it guys.

Break camp momma has a job for sure. And the worst thing imho as being older is to put up with crap that you absolutely don't have to. Life's to short not to gamble is the odds are in your favor.

Me i moved here in 95 with 500.00 (that's total start out money. ) i got to texas with 295.00
And made it. From you sir i expect nothing less. Plus if it would tickle momma! ! Win win and more win. Plus we won't go into the other bonus points traffic fishing etc

I have moved for less reason.spent the winter of 84-85 in Denver. Left the end of march and got back to Texas woth $45. It was worth it to be back. If it makes y'all happy, there are more important things in life than money. But it sounds like you would be alright. Good luck either way.

I would say do it. I moved from Arizona back to Texas with about $500 in 1999. Hell, I made it up to NY with a little more than that.

Good luck with all this. You're a good guy, and deserve to be happy. You can do this no problem.

lol, I'm sure you will. Mamma is ready to go. I'd like to find a job first so I don't burn through my savings. I have a meeting tomorrow. If it goes shitty I may give my notice and start packing. Ideally id like to have a job lined up.

Good luck Itchin ! I've thought about it in the past as I love fishing with my kids. Nothing like it for bonding and talking with my children.

I've mentioned it to wife before would consider as I get older, but I've found there isn't much work there unless you're in the Oil or Construction industry.

Either way wish you the best.

Great pics txi! And thanks for the kind words everyone. It's kinda scary for me because I figured I'd retire from this company. But hey I can just roll over my 401k and keep on going with another company.

I remember when you came on TGT as itchintoshoot. You moved to Victoria area from out West, Arizona or New Mexico I believe. My point is.... move to where you and your wife believe Home is. Come on down and visit the in-laws... check out the city.... txi posted some nice pics, plenty more to do including hunting and fishing. Outdoor ranges include Starrys, CC rifle club and another to the north of the bridge (can't recall the name but other members probably do). I don't know exactly what type of job you want or need... Come on down, the water is fine....

That's me. We are always in corpus anyway, might as well move. My wife just wants to be near her family. I'm ok wherever I'm at, but her happiness is important. One pro would be not having to drive down there all the time for birthdays, etc.

I appreciate that. As far as employment; right now I do inside sales for HVAC equipment, mostly 3 phase commercial, and multi family, like apartment complexes. In Victoria I sold water works and industrial valves and fittings. I'm not opposed to trying something new or getting my hands dirty.
