Some folks just want everyone to know they are happy in the 13th century like the clergy in Iran.
And, Karen, some folks resort to insults when they have no valid argument or rebuttal to justify their actions - Just like the leftist they're complaining about.

I started the thread for some laughs. I don’t care what y’all have in your homes. I agree with some abrasive points but who cares?

Technically makes people incredibly lazy. It also gives mankind great strides. Hopefully we don’t learn lessons too hard.

    Not where you are
    Your broad brush statement
    "Humans are inherently lazy beings."
needs to be modified just a tad. There are many of us out here that don't follow that trail.

    I wash my own car
    I change my own oil
I no longer mow my own grass but that's pretty low tech( :green: )
Lights in a room come on when I flip the switch, they go off for the same reason
Thermostat changes temp or mode when turn/press the controls mounted on the thermostat
Doorbell rings - I gotta look through the peep hole to see who's out there.
I have a TV remote it changes the channel when I push a button. It changes the volume when I press a button.
I "talk" to the map app in my truck because it's safer. If I'm parked I input route via the screen.
I don't have a habit of "Talking" to technology
Some of us really aren't that lazy or dependent
There's more but this is enough to dodge your broad brush.

    I am not alone.

    Dude here ta go.

    HUMAN SPECIES.
    General statement and also true.
Other wise we would have quit inventing shit as soon as we harnessed fire. Darn near everything we develop makes life in general easier.

I got one for free when I renewed the satellite radio for the truck.
We don't use it for much, but it can be entertaining.
I like to mess with Alexa.
"Hey Alexa, whatcha reckon tha weather is gonna do come friday?"
It usually rambles a minute about not being sure what I asked, but will offer a brief weather forecast.
Because I mentioned weather and Friday.

Talking redneck to Alexa can be fun.
Unplug it's ass if it brothers ya.

I have had an Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen), for about a year and a half now. It's still brand new in the box. :)
