Now, if you try to be prepared, you get accused of being paranoid.

    Wildcat Diva,

    Even paranoids face real hazards.

Also, weapons are like parachutes: IF you ever need one & don't have it, you likely will never need either again.

A personal note: Inasmuch as it looks like you have long hair, you might look into some "combs" like my GM wore for decades. = Those well-disguised 4" blades would be quite deadly at close range self defense.
(Until her passing at 99, my GM always wore her hair "up" in two braids, that when "down" were nearly to her knees.)

Oh, I agree guys. I'm just saying that that's the idea that we are fed often by the culture, and there is pressure to conform to that idea.

I take pains not to listen, but the damage is still done to the masses, with the result being a huge population of defenseless folks (ladies AND men).

We are fed the interpretation that there is something wrong with us to want to carry a weapon.

So it's our job not to attend to that.

I'm sure this is nothing new.... just was making the point in reference to the earlier comment saying that yeah, this is why we have so many people (women and men too) without the wherewithal to defend themselves.)

And satx, yes, I would love combs like those you spoke of.

    easy rider,

I suspect that any wildcat can always use sharper/more claws.
(My beloved's claws are quite sharp. = D is neither "kitten" nor "pussycat". - Given her "compact size" = 60" & Size 2, I would guess: Lynx.)
