More than a few seasoned veterans and others on this forum can relate to this famous rifle of WW2 and Korean Wars. And also owning/shooting a CMP issue as a civilian like me. My first encounter was shooting in the big bore matches at the Blue Trail Range in CT in 1960s. Later it was my Marine Corps post-boot camp training rifle at ITR.

Attached with permission from Leatherneck Magazine April 2022 and the author, Sam Lichtman is a featured article on the M1. The article covers the development, combat record and use to this day in ceremonial formations. And lots of reference to us Devil Dogs as it comes from Leatherneck Magazine.
