Thanks for what you do! Home school and still pay school taxes. That must be an incredibly difficult thing to do.

Public schools are all about indoctrination, not one bit about education.

P.C. is also creeping into private and parochial schools these days.

I wish I could home school. I'm waiting for my chance to raise hell at the school. I've already been ignoring bs forms they send home for me to sign. Let them try to tell me to stop sending Ty to school with lunch. I'll go bitch out the school board, and then still get a doctors note.

Are Texas schools barring people from sending their kids off with home-made lunches? My kid's school seems ok with them so I wasn't aware this was common here...

... I agree though - this ridiculous intrusion has got to stop but I fear it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

The very best course of action if there is a real problem at school is to visit with the school teacher, administrators, and if you're not getting satisfactions, visit with the school board. Rules can be changed by the board!

I know it pisses people off but a lot of people say they cant afford to homeschool. Typically they could afford it but not homeschool, a big nice house, that new truck, the bass boat, the motorcycle, the vacations. Its all about putting your time and money into what you value.

And what about the rest of us living in small, old houses, can't afford even a motorcycle, and know vacation is just another term for "unemployed"? lol

Then, along with that, I wouldn't know how to homeschool if i tried.

    I said "typically", not always.

I don't know man, make it a goal? Like if you can't do it right away, maybe in a year? Two years?

As far as how to do it, there are a lot of online resources and even entire online curricula that really make things easier so you don't have to put it all together piecemeal.

Also, consider Christian or other private schools. Sure some are $10,000-$15,000 per year per kid, but others are much less than that. Also if you are really struggling financially, a lot of them offer need based scholarships.
