The phrase: "The Constitution is not a Suicide Pact" has been attributed to numerous persons from Abraham Lincoln to several Supreme Court Justices.
Lincoln suspended "Habeas Corpus," and in 1949 Supreme Court Justice Jackson opined that the Bill of Rights could be construed as a "Suicide Pact."
The problem with people who disagree with the rule of law as set forth in the Constitution, is they will resort to unconstitutional legislation instead of following the proper methods for amending the Constitution.
