I picked up a CZ SP01 that uses a threaded barrel. I am not interested nor do I need the threaded portion. Sights are already a normal pistol sights and now I am looking for a good gunsmith to cut and crown the barrel. Anyone have a lead on someone in north Texas? I am aware of the need for this to be done perfectly for accuracy reasons hence me looking for the right person. TIA.

If it really bothers you, just buy another barrel?
    Maybe someone will trade you.
I am a bit OCD about serial numbers. The threads will go. Dont like the look, dont need em. Was going to unload it for a 75 but that depends on the cost. Dont really need the rail either. I am just not into that stuff.

Why did you buy it then, or was it a gift?

I just cant see going to the trouble of cutting off the barrel because its threaded.
Having it threaded is a good thing should you decide later you want a can or trade it

Why I bought it doesn’t really matter. A new firearm with holsters and extra magazines for the price I paid is reason enough. Lets say, it was a deal. Now, on to the reason for the thread. Anyone have any suggestions to get the barrel cut and crowned?

I'd bet there is someone around this forum that would trade you for your barrel. Or ............. you could just take it out and use a bench grinder to get rid of those nasty old threads!

Yeah, I am well aware of that not being a good plan. I am looking for a good gunsmith to do a proper job. Cut and crown. Its not a Glock or HiPoint. It deserves better than a bench grinder or a torch.
