Since Toyota went with a ttv6 and missed the mark on really want I wanted in a newer truck. I will not own a turbo engine I’ve been screwed in the past.
The tundra 5.7 is still a possibility fyi but, I there was a Titan xd pro 4 whatever in the parking lot.. that to me looks like a good truck. I liked the lines it has, then I saw the all important 5.6 V8!

Did some YouTubing on the truck, but does anyone on here have one?? Curious to know.
Warranty is best in class that stood out to me as well.

I haven’t owned one, but worked on the launch waaay back in the day so have a somewhat educated perspective.

Stout truck, under-rated with a fantastic engine and exhaust note.

IMHO the first gen trucks were attractive.
I’m not a fan of the latest styling.

Listen, my 04 Titan was tough as nails but you need to understand that was back when some still got made to Nissan standards. The crap that’s out now I won’t touch one. Don’t. Not with a 50 foot pole. 04 was the year. They had axle seal issues but that was fixable. The 04 was also built using existing parts from the 5.0 they had for racing. Pistons in the 04 are truly hemispherical. 05 and after Nissan was building them like crap.

My 04 was bulletproof. I put 136k mikes trouble free. Even had to put 16k miles I believe it was on a bad wheel bearing and she never gave out. Never leaked a drop of oil. Later years you will see them typically leak from the oil filter housing.

I don’t trust the new ones. My 04 set a hard standard to meet. What I’m doing now is looking for a Chevy truck 09-13 that’s in good shape. I would suggest the same. Those year trucks didn’t have direct injection and had low consumer report problems.

So if you find an 04 with low mileage I wouldn’t hesitate but understand the transmission on em will need attention at I’d say 140k. By attention I mean rebuild. Jatco built them after the ford c6 but they have their issues.

Our mechanic runs a pretty busy independent shop. 4 bays. Busy all the time. He does warranty work on Ford, Nissan, Toyota, and Chevrolet. He sees a TON of vehicles run through his shop.

He has strongly advised against any modern (less than about 10 years old) Nissans, that's out of warranty, for a variety of reasons.

I too, really like the Titans. They represent a very good bang for the buck. 2 years ago, before all of the price insanity, you could buy a loaded diesel for under $50k with incentives and discounts.
