    Lol. Oil your guns.

Pick a product. Motor oil works, i like slip 2000, juat avoid frog lube. If its a pistol, or a garand/carbine/m14, use grease. For pistols i like TW25B, and my Garand and Carbine get lubriplate

Close to 90% of malfunctions i see are caused by a lack of lubricant

I've been watching videos by GunBlue490. In a few of his videos, he insists that you shouldn't put oil on your guns, that it gunks them up and can ruin them. For example:
How to Oil and Lubricate Your Gun (and how NOT to)

    Opinions?

Not watching the video tonight but based on your summation I would say he is basing his opinion on not properly oiling a firearm. He probably dumped a half gallon of 30wt in it and decided it was the oils fault when the gun filled with gunk.

Proper oiling is good for a firearm. And proper greasing where required.

Yeah dont oil or clean them. Let them turn all rusted & decroded inside the action and bore. They run better that way.

Also helps to maintain or appreciate in value too. Buyers everywhere pay a premium for rusted out pieces of shit over new looking guns. Just look at the rusted out piece of shit Python, HK or SIG market and compare prices vs LNIB

Next thing he'll be saying is that it's bad to piss down the barrel of a Mosin-Nagant 91/30, but it neutralizes the corrosive salts in the primers of the 7.62x54RR ammo....

Or just use regular water. Nothing about urine or windex does anything special.

But, he's such a sweet old man with many, many years of experience with guns! From his childhood, through Vietman, through the police force, and through working as a gunsmith. I want to trust him!

Oh, well. Can anyone steer me to videos where it's done right?
