I've been told that July 1st is the time to plant for Fall pumpkins. So, it's probably not too late. I tried a couple of times with little success. I get lots of vine and blooms, but no pumpkins. The cooler temperatures and slightly wetter weather may make this a good year to try again.

Thanks. Hoping to get them in the ground tonight - planted a newly sprouted pecan tree last night we've been babying in a pot and now it's outgrowing the pot. Hate planting trees mid-summer, but this one needs a little stress to make it root out (that, and root activator).

Need to do the same with a surprise (red?) oak sapling that popped up, too... but it can wait until after pumpkins. This has been the year for trees, including a crepe myrtle that's having babies everywhere.
