My understanding on this is if Obama signs the treaty(firearms) with Mexico in order for anyone to reload would require a license, correct or incorrect.?

While I certainly hope your correct I would guess this administration would
use any "tool" to implement their wishes.

    Following taken from treaty. (http://www.oas.org/juridico/english/treaties/a-63.html)

For the purposes of this Convention, the following definitions shall apply:
    1. "Illicit manufacturing": the manufacture or assembly of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other related materials:
    a. from components or parts illicitly trafficked; or
    b. without a license from a competent governmental authority of the State Party where the manufacture or assembly takes place; or
    c. without marking the firearms that require marking at the time of manufacturing.

It is much more simple than that, DCortez.

Mexico has corruption at all levels is more than willing to blame the US for its problems. Obama is willing to trash the US to advance his social policy.

Mexico just needs to be run by honest men and women of integrity, same with the US.

Trying to siphon off 400 million to ACORN, among other things, does not fill me with confidence. I hope Ambi is correct, but my life experience is telling me otherwise. Don't get me wrong, Bush spending 700 billion as he was walking out the door didn't fill me with joy either.

Slippery slopes and thin ice make me nervous.

This is a pretty accurate assessment of the Maobama administrations stand to this point. He stood in Europe and said that Europe was great but the US was dismissive and derisive. IMHO yes we are Mr. Chairman "F*#K Europe".

Now he goes to Mexico and says that all the problems with the drug cartels can be blamed on US gun laws because 95% of the guns can be trace back to the US, some to gun shops right across the border. Pardon me Mr Chairman, but horsepuckey. The Cartel's are using fully automatic assault weapons that are not legal for ownership or sale in the US since 1986. I do believe that a lot of the weapons can probably be traced to US manufacturers, selling them on legal contract to the Mexican Military and Government who then issue them to the drug scumbags on whichever side of the fight pay them more....

As you can see this all riles me up quite a bit. I love the USA, but if Chairman Maobama has his way the USA will cease to exist in it's current form. It will be replaced by some European socialist monstrosity.

My opinion only but having lived along the border is that most military type hardware comes from the Mexican military, some from import,China and other countries, especially the AK47's, the rest is returned from the states via cartel and their carriers who deliver drugs here. Rather then take our rights simply close the traffic on the border, yes it can be done.

The overall ideas of this administration appears to "dislike" the American citizen and put the blame of the world's problem at our feet.

Just to stay on topic if my and your rights are taken away to reload or own firearms will not nor can it prevent the cartel from obtaining those items, to believe otherwise is simply naive.

    Yup ~ absolutely

I believe that's opinion, not fact, and should be identified as such.

I'm not sure what his social policy is; I'm inclined to dismiss anything he said during the recent campaign as rhetoric; let's see what he actually does...
If you don't know what his social policy is then you must not be paying attention. It is clearly obvious what his agenda is and it is frightening.

    The Answer is so Simple

Adopt the PRC Chinese law concerning dope and dope dealers. And while we are at it see what the Moslem Countries do with dopers and dope peddlers and adopt that also.

Damn, if the World is so hard to take without a little "softener" forget the stinking dope and take a sip of Crown Royal..............

    the 17% solution...?

    yep...what he said...

solution is simple. The Chi-Coms and Muslims "take care 'o business."

that being said, there seems to be WAY to much $$$ involved in crime, greed, coruption , and politics in the US/Mexican drug trade.

    P.S.

I heard the actual "traceable" amount of US Firearns to Mexican Thugs = 17%.

Where the heck do they get the other 83% ?????

My understanding, which may very well be flawed, is that 90% of the guns that the serial numbers were sent back to the US and were able to be traced were from the US.

I wonder if that includes the guns that were legitimately sold to the Mexican Army and were then taken by deserters or otherwise sold in Mexico. Those guns also never went through the average gun dealer. And, every bit of the criminal actions took place after the guns had been legitimately exported to Mexico.

    Just a thought.

I believe it was 90% of the traceable guns. 17% of all guns, traceable and non treaceable, were traced back to the US.

Call me crazy, but I'm going to say that 100% of the legal American tender, found in Mexico, can be traced back to America
