Just seeing what your thoughts on troubleshooting a mosin that’s kind of gunked up are.

I’m thinking the action needs a hotdog, IMO.

Lol it’s an old photo off the web. Thought it would be fun to post on here and make people scratch their head.

Some torture tests I don't understand. I understand dirt, mud, sand, water, etc... Those are things that could happen. Dropping it 6 feet.. I get it... but throwing stuff in there like this is just wrong and embarrassing. In topic related events.. a metal piece has fallen off of my stock.... I don't want to "repair" it incorrectly by using wood glue or something like that. I'll bring it to the meet up to show you guys what I mean. I am trying to keep my mosin in as original condition as possible. Any ideas?

Do you have pictures of the metal piece/area?

The barrel band must be gone then or n ever existed because I dont believe there is one on there. I'll have to go recheck

EDIT -- Just rechecked... Its just a piece of metal in the stock.. the barrel bands are both in the correct place.

Yup that's it. I'll bookmark it.

It's coming from Russia (not sure of that matters)

Here's a domestic vendor for a lot cheaper. It say's in stock but I can't be sure.

Mosin Nagant Rear Barrel Band Spring PAR-MOS043
Mosin Nagant barrel band spring. This locks the barrel band keeping it from sliding of rifle.
    PAR-MOS043 Rear BB Spring $6.99

For the price I might pick up a few myself.
