6mm might argue with that.30 378 is long range champ. Guy at the range today was shooting one, 7$/rnd. 1k$ leopold, low end. 3k fps @ 100.

Thought I’d share my plans for a custom rifle I’m planning. After a lot of comparing I have decided on a 25-06 project. Sometimes a sweet cartridge is right in front of us.
Here’s a video that explains some great points:

I have the same rifle! I did mount mine in a Boyd's grey laminated stock though. The factory synthetic stocks are a little flimsy in the fore-end area, and the laminated stock fixes that issue and also dresses up the rifle.I haven't tried it yet but I just got a marlin 7mm-08 got to see how it runs View attachment 278146

Extremely accurate with handloads and even most factory ammo. Awesome rifle that I believe you are going to enjoy for years to come.
WOW! $500! I paid $260 for mine brand new some years ago with a generic 3x9 scope.Caught the setup in a pawnshop 500.00 otd
Probably not. Rifle comes with sling swivels, but the factory stock is going to be flimsy in the fore-end area. If you are planning on using a bipod, I'd suggest upgrading the stock to one that was much stiffer in the fore-end.Is it hard to mount a bipod on it
Dammit but today it's a sellers market sadlyWOW! $500! I paid $260 for mine brand new some years ago with a generic 3x9 scope.

That is true, but it still seems a bit high for an entry-level bolt action rifle. Of course I haven't priced them in some time either.Dammit but today it's a sellers market sadly
I have three of the marlin X7 series of rifles. The first one I bought was an XL7 in 25-06 to replace one that was lacking in the collection. Thanks
I think the difference is in the scopeThat is true, but it still seems a bit high for an entry-level bolt action rifle. Of course I haven't priced them in some time either.
No. Swivel type. 10 inch lbs. gtgIs it hard to mount a bipod on it
Quality and brand of scope can make a huge difference. I bought my 7mm-08 as combo from Marlin, so it had some generic 3x9 that came bore-sighted to the rifle.I think the difference is in the scope
