I don't know if you calculated to cause alarm or not, so I did not address that part.

If you carried a long gun into the back in a manner calculated to cause alarm then you committed disorderly conduct.

Makes sense, and how would one prove that they were not trying to cause alarm, lol......

Just to clear things up, I was not the one carrying the AR (or any long gun) into the bank.

    Once again my friend,

With all due respect this assertion is ridiculous.

If you are not showing or pulling your weapon then showing an ID is nothing more than that. It is not announcing you are carrying as you do not have to have a weapon to have a CHL.

you bring unnecessary attention to yourself when using the CHL as a form of identification, whether or not you are actually armed. I guess my philosophy as to weapons is simply "silent but deadly"....LOL

You don't have to; the state would have to prove you were. ;)

I had the AR slung over my shoulder (about as non-threatening as a long gun can be carried) and, of course, the bank DID call the police. After a very civil discussion with bank management and the police (I worked for that city and knew many of the officers), the bank decided that the 30.06 sign should be taken down before long-gun carrying customers becomes common.

I made my point, but soon changed financial institutions. My new bank is where I met the CHL holding cashier whom I dated.
