Does anyone know if there is still a DPS checkpoint for all vehicles coming into TX from Louisiana on I20? Trying to Google it surprisingly doesn't yield many results.

Can't find camera coverage of it, but I'd guess so. It looks like the larger side roads around the crossing have backups at intersections, probably from large numbers of people going around the stop.

    LMAO

I live in TX, but am considering going to LA, briefly, to visit family. Everyone has been social distancing and what not, but it looks like if we go to LA and then come back, that we have to abide by a 14 day quarantine...which would suck.

Not too worried about having to continue quarantining, but it'd suck to not be able to legally go run outside or anything like that.

Probably nothing stopping you from crossing on a smaller road.

Both time this month driving back from Virginia all of my map apps tried to redirect me through New Orleans or Shreveport. Would start off with best directions ( Tennessee to Arkansas ) but when I would get to I-40 in Tennessee they would alter the route claiming interstate shutdowns on the Texas/Arkansas border. I ignored them and went the way I got up there.

Road travel is towards the bottom.

They don't specifically mention a route, but other news stories were saying all routes in from LA. Also there were some reports about using patrols instead of actual checkpoints.

Had a relative come through LA a couple weeks ago and had to self-quarantine, but things are still pretty fluid.
