But this gives me great insight into where your ridiculous foreign policy ideas come from. You live in a fantasy world and your ideas on the worth of the US military ("to the detriment to Americans as it is to the people across the globe.") are in line with the hard left socialists. If you're this divorced from fact, logic and reason, then there's no point in continuing to discuss this with you.

Really? I'm ignorant to history? Have you even read what our founding fathers said on the matter? Why do you believe the 2nd Amendment used the word "militia" and no mention of "military"? They believed in the power of the people, not the power of the government.

And when we've drawn down our armed forces to minimal levels, we wind up in situations like WWI and WWII where we take massive casualties in the beginning because our troops were armed with obsolete weapons, poorly trained, and poorly prepared. That's where you're ignorant of history - in the modern world, your ideas are untenable. Isolationism has only ever hurt this country, and isolationists always wrap themselves in an attitude of false intellectual superiority while spouting dangerous drivel.

Did I ever say I was an isolationist? I just don't believe our "modern" government's narrative on helping the people of Ukraine. Although there was I time I was just like you, I have since dug into motives for actions our beloved government has taken in the past and present. So now I look at my younger self as indeed ignorant.

Lets see: Zel locked up all his political enemies, stomped on free speech, and doesn't allow religious freedom...among other things we who love 'democracy' value...but, by all means, look the other way, he's a 'good guy'...if by good guy, we mean totalitarian dictators who our government hails as a hero...

Is the Dombas region no longer Ukraine? There are pro Russian Ukrainians as well as anti Russian Ukrainians. Now that's not to say they are equal in the amount of people, but that certainly doesn't make them united in fighting Russia.

The VAST majority are solidly united. There will always be a few naysayers, but to suggest Ukraine isn't united behimd preserving the ENTIRITY of Ukraine is just silly and sowing false illusions of discord that just don't exist.
