Not exactly the whole truth... he locked up a few russian orthodox leaders who were going well beyond simply speaking out against the war, but facilitating or attempting to take action against the Ukraine. It it no different than when the US snuffs some mulah who is a terrorist.

The VAST majority are solidly united. There will always be a few naysayers, but to suggest Ukraine isn't united behimd preserving the ENTIRITY of Ukraine is just silly and sowing false illusions of discord that just don't exist.

I hope and pray that you are correct. Since you have been there, on the ground, I tend strongly to believe what you say about the Ukraine.

The reason I brought up Donbas is to the point of civil strife. Ukrainians have been fighting each other there for, I believe, 8 years before Russia invaded.

No group is perfect, and even those that support or oppose something do so do varying degrees... however it was truly amazing to see the level of displayed, overt, loud support for Ukraine and an idea and a nation that I saw there.

Clothing, graffiti, posters, people getting together to build camo nets, collecting food to send to the front, people volunteering to do all sorts of things... it blew my mind. Even death metal concerts (it was a awesome show) were held and all the proceeds went to support the зсу...

Most consider this simply an continuation of the 2014 invasion. russia took advantage of a Ukrainian revolution and strife, along with a week US foreign policy to facilitate a "rebellion" directly support by "little green men" in russian spetsnaz uniforms without markings... they were doing more than advising, they were shooting, fighting...

The history is very interesting. This didn't start in 2022, it started getting hot in 2014.

I'm not going to argue Russia's involvement, for many of those Ukrainians are pro Russia and depended on Russian support, but then again, The U.S. was also supporting the opposing side.

Many people believe American/ Russian animosity started after WWII bringing about the 'Cold War'. I know I was never taught in school about the 1917 invasion of American troops into Russia. I'm sure they still teach it in Russia though.
