I know people who live in Nebraska, Iowa & Wisconson & they all say it's horrendous.
They're trying to tell the rest of the country what's happening.
Another storm of the same strength or stronger is coming this week, Wed.-Fri.
Media outlets are not reporting this at all.
According to the U.S. AG official for the whole U.S., preliminary damage results say that 40% of the U.S. food supply has been wiped out.
Could get real interesting real soon...............

What are we talking about? Wheat, corn, grains? Surely our dairy products are produced in the south?

edit - 1 million calves?!?!? I have plenty grass fed beef and venison, but that could be tough for all of us.

Don't think anyone is going to go hungry.

Not the first time we have had bad floods in the Midwest.

I read in US Today beef could rise 25 to 50 cents per pound and pork $1 per pound in a worst case scenario. Could be less but could be more so it's speculation at this point. Much like gas going to $3 in Texas soon but should slowly go down after Memorial Day though we always have a spring run-up in prices.

Maybe you missed the part where the Nebraska Governor said "never seen flooding like this in our states history".
Only time will tell the true story but why not get ahead while we can just in case.

Round 2 super storm (like last month) is now in full swing till Fri.
    Worth watching in any case.

Oh, I see that HEB has beef roast on sale @ $2.47 per lb. right now.
I always get a couple to make beef stew mmmmm good it is

There's around 100 million cows in the US. Official estimates usually have it around 95 or so. So basically 1% of cows lost? Texas has around 15 million cows by itself. I wouldn't worry too much about the cows. And the crops that were lost will likely have many of the fields replanted with an alternate crop since we're still early in spring.
