Y'all know I like my POF rifles.


This is one that I plan to have. It is a 308 that is lighter than most of my 5.56mm ARs.


I looked at it and fondled it at Shot Show last week and I remain impressed with what I felt and saw.


1. 16" barrel is 6.75lbs. The 10.5" is around 6.2
2. Ambidextrous lower as expected from POF.
3. The gas block is a 9 position gas block.
4. The rail. Narrow and low profile. Unlike anything you have seen from POF
5. Trigger. One of POFs in house triggers. Feels great.




One question. Can I open the gas up enough to have it cycle subsonic 308? Didn't think to ask!


I walked around SHot Show and no one had a 6.75" 308, piston or otherwise. DPMS with their G2 may be the only one close.

Did you see the Mega small frame 308? I was beyond impressed with it. 2A Armament had a nice light weight 308 as well. 2A's offering will be available as build pieces and Mega's is going to be offered as a complete gun only. I was sure I'd ever buy a completed "factory" AR again, but Mega has me rethinking my position on that. 2A's receiver set sure is sweet though, and the prototype handguard they had on their gun at the show was slim and sexy.

I don't remember either's quoted weights, but I don't believe they were sub 7lbs like POF suggests that their gun is. Mega's gun was super paired down with no fat left on its bones, and 2A had even more lightening work done than that. The 2A guy mentioned that it could still drop a little weight here and there, specifically citing the handguard's continued development. It was already lightened significantly but the prototype was billet where as the production version will be made off of an extrusion that'll allow for reduced mass. He also mentioned that their optional aluminum barrel nut is much lighter than the included Ti nut will be, but still plenty strong for its purpose. I can't remember which of the two companies went into the details of their barrel, because I was approaching information overload already. Things got fuzzy in my brain after playing with the little 12" Mega 308 SBR, and all the details from the previous day's at the show ran together.

It's taken a while, but I received a 14 and a half inch POF Revolution.

I have been anticipating this rifle since I saw it at the POF Booth 2 years ago.






The first impression when I received this rifle and opened the box was that it is a well-built and finished rifle.

When I picked it up and took it from the case, I was remindes of why it made my must have list. It is light. It's not just a small frame AR-10. This 308 AR pattern rifle weighs 7.3 lbs. This is light for your typical AR-15. In fact, I would say it feels a lot like an AR-15. You could say it feels more like an AR-15 than it does an AR-10. I found myself wondering if it was going to kick like a mule. I knew that the POF muzzle brake was effective, but the first thing that's was getting replaced on this rifle was the muzzle brake. It was going to be changed out for a dead air Key mount for a sandman L silencer.




This is a AR-15 framed 308. It's not a small frame AR-10. It literally is an AR-15 with an extended Magwell and some substantial engineering changes to handle the pressure of the. That said, it has extensive parts commonality with the AR-15.
1. Bolt Carrier
2. FCG
3. Buffer
4. Receiver extension
5. Stock

When I shot the rifle with just the dead air brake on it, it shot surprisingly well. It did not have excessive recoil.

The rifle functioned without issue using Portuguese 147gr NATO ammunition. Now, I only fired 10 rounds and cleaned the barrel every 2 rounds.

Next step is to continue breaking the barrel in and zero the day and night optics.

The POF Revolution upper receiver does not fit on an AR-10 receiver block

Did are sent a Kemount muzzle brake for the Dead Air Sandman L

rockset. check
Wrench. check
Lots of patience? Probably not so much

The Keymount, mounted and giving the rocks at a couple of days to cure.

Starting the barrel break in. Noticed there's no suppressor on the rifle.

Again, the receiver used the JP Enterprises AR-15 cleaning Rod guide. Not the AR-10

The rifle has the Saker 7.62 on the dead air break. The dead air Key-Mo mount module was used to allow the Saker 7.62 to mount on the dead air mount. It turn to see original marginal at best Mount system into one of the best Mount systems in the industry.

@wildriverranch shooting the @primaryarmsonline 3-18x50mm FFP with the ACSS HUD reticle on the @pofusa Revolution 14.5" .308 in a Larue Mount out to 500 yards.
@deadairsilencers Sandman L with a rifles only HAD suppressor cover keeping it quiet but cool.
The tbac suppressors bipod is on the front.
