At my previous home about 15 minutes from me, I used to get UPS deliveries at least once a week and service was awesome. The driver and I knew each other by name and I never worried about service. We moved here (still in Katy) and I have grown to hate UPS. This is the 4th time now I have had an issue. First time was a case of 9mm ammo that mysteriously made it to the Stafford UPS dist center and vanished. Tracking just said delayed.

Then twice I have had the tracking say delivered (left at front door) and the package was not actually delivered. Once was another case of 9mm ammo and this time, just a couple days ago, it was a CZ P09 Kadet kit. Both times UPS has no answers and it is almost impossible to talk to a real person. Now I am waiting on a Holosun pistol optic that I bought from Primary Arms here in Houston. Tracking shows it shipped from Primary Arms and is now in Lufkin! It says my order has an "exception" and is being re-routed. What the hell does that mean? I have never had an issue with Fed-Ex and at this point I am considering not ordering from companies that use UPS.

Somoene at that facility is on the take and they're stealing your gun related shit.

there is a simple solution. Talk to the nearest FFL and start having the deliveries routed to them. If they steal THEIR stuff its a business support case and they get a lot more visibility than consumer support cases.

Can be any worse that USPS. This is a regular thing for me.

It was in Leander on the 9th. Then I guess it decided to go bar hopping on 6th street for a few days.

I get screwed by them all. Last minute of the day/ night deliveries usually two or three days late and the whole time tracking says on a truck out for delivery.

No problem here but DHL is terrible and unfortunately, my mail order meds come that way. Out of state to DHL in Grand Prairie one day. It will sit there for 5-8 business days before they hand over to USPS. USPS will deliver the next day. DHL has been this way for almost 2 years.

I had USPS deliver a package to me that wasn't mine last Sunday.
Yesterday, Amazon delivered a package to me that wasn't mine.

Fedex is the one with whom I have problems. Our USPS goes the extra mile, well to the side door as requested for packages, and UPS usually does too.

Fedex on the other hand can barely find the right address, let alone, special handling instructions.

Sign of the times. I'm not going to say that it was perfect before the pandemic, but it was more isolated incidents. Like USPS, my usual mail lady is great. Talking to her about the delivery service when she was off. She told me that the service as a whole are understaffed, and they are reduced to hiring people that normally they would be more selective in hiring.

Where I live, for years, the normal UPS driver that delivered here I knew, because I used to actually work with them before the job I have today. I haven't seen him in several years now, and many that deliver here, since covid, are different drivers on a regular basis. Those that load the trucks, and some of those move up to driving, when I was there, I wouldn't call the most responsible. I can only imagine how bad it's gotten since the days of "please pay me to stay home" times.

    Enough said.

This is why I’m not going to apply for a ffl. So many trash people employed everywhere. The carriers in Navarro county are shit. They also have a shortage of supervisors and cameras at hubs. Ups website seems to make it impossible to report a problem so I flagged down a driver and got his supervisors contact. Resulted in several people being interviewed and suddenly my mail is no longer tampered.

    The world needs a reset.

We had a good USPS carrier, Marine guy. Never any problems, he went on vacation for a couple of weeks. Wife had a package go missing, she went to local facility, they couldn't find it. Regular guy comes back, tell him what happened, he brings it the next day. It depends who you talk to.

UPS SUCKS out here in the boonies. They used to throw our packages on the roadside about a half mile from our house . I Contacted them and asked if they could get a little closer. Their response ? Start dropping our packages at another house across from their roadside drop. Luckily,we know that homeowner so he would call us when they dropped there. But that was a hassle for him, so I contacted them again . I gave them a "job aid" showing exactly how to find our driveway. Their response ? The next delivery was left at the old roadside spot with a huge boot stomp mark on the side.
Since then, they have gotten a couple of drops CLOSE to our house.
The entire time, FedEx was running packages right to our front door .
    YMMV.

USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL they can all go to hell.
My mail order pharmacy had so much trouble that they switched to individual couriers for crosstown deliveries. Since they're in Sugarland and I'm in Spring, that means my medicine is given to a particular driver who puts it in their personal car and drives up to Spring to deliver. I get a couple of texts telling me about the progress and even when it arrives.

The delivery text includes a link to tip the driver. One time, a driver smelled gas and alerted me to a leak that I was able to fix immediately. I tipped the guy $20, which is a lot less than I would have paid if I had discovered the leak much later.

    That's good service.

Back in the day, I knew more than one business that had trouble with the major carriers so for shipments inside Texas, they used TexPack. Apparently TexPack no longer exists as a shipping company but I'm wondering if anyone has stepped in to fill that role? Does anybody know of alternate shippers they feel they can trust?

I have heard some good feedback about Lone Star Overnight but I have not used them enough myself to confirm.

Well, I will say, Amazon, when they use their own delivery has been great to me. Other than that, and except for my usual USPS driver, not here anyway.
