    A guy my dad worked with was one of those held during that cluster phuc brought to us by Mr. Peanut. I remember gas prices & waiting in line for gas.

    I worked with one of the original hostages who as a USAF captain at the time and later retired as a brigadier general. He did not say much about the experience other than he believes he was confused with a USMC sergeant which led to his release, as if the Iranians knew who he actual was and what he was doing there, they probably would have never let him go. We used to joke that they did know him, which is why they got rid of him! He was quite the character!

    He ended up being one of the thirteen women and African-Americans released on 19-20 Nov 1979.
