    I make sure to turn off the gas and run it out of the system when I won't be riding for a while. Makes life easier next time I want to ride.

    SOP for me too though admittedly I didn't last time because it was running bad. I wanted the ATV this weekend but it's not meant to be so I'll tear into more later.

    I had a bike once that ran on starter fluid and nothing else. I sold it after the dealer took my money on a new fuel tank and I had the carbs rebuilt - twice. The guy who bought it from me called me a couple weeks later and said the vacuum hose going from the intake manifold to the carbs (the one that opens the carbs up and let fuel flow) had a crack in it. The crack was enough to eliminate the vacuum and keep the engine from running.

    In short, carefully check your vacuum hoses!

    Funny you mention that. If you didn't see the beginning, this thing sat out in the weather for years before I bought it. I'm kinda glad I didn't get it running because I noticed a CV boot dry rotted and torn.

    Good tip, I look at them. ;)
