Unless you live where she lives and go to the range that she goes to when she goes, your experience means nothing. You should respect her personal view on her experience at the range until you can prove different.

I don't think he was calling bullshit on her "experience" as much as her assumption of what these "looks" meant. If she had said these things were SAID, I'd have no issue but she interprets looks to mean that. I believe that is what he does not agree with and I don't either.

Black women coming to the indoor range that I shoot at is a rarity even on women’s day. So her assumption may have been correct if black women shooting at her local range is rare.

Because it’s her own personal experience. Everyone’s experience is not the same.

I'm going to the range a lot. Currently the Eagle Gun Range in Farmers Branch. Before that, the Longview Rifle and Pistol Club. Before that, a bunch of indoor and outdoor ranges in and around Denver, Colorado. I've been to gun shows lots of times in these areas. Crossroads of the West, Tanner, Premier, Market Hall... At none of these did I ever notice anybody giving a black person as much as a funny luck. Everybody was always like, cool, welcome, fellow gun enthusiast. There was some people who couldn't get it into their heads that women might be experts on the subject also, but that was way back in the 90s and 80s.

So... What range did this person say she had that experience? Allegedly?

Because to me this article seems like it's saying "gun owners are white and racist, and as soon as we get some 'minorities' going to the range, they'll support gun control too, tee hee".

Owning the narrative is the name of the game.

It's not her personal experience. She is noticing a reaction to her presence and assuming the reaction is caused by her being black. The reaction may be caused by another variable. The reaction of the other patrons is her personal experience, and her attribution of the reaction to her blackness is her own inference. She could be incorrect.

Many times "it's cause I'm black" is factually incorrect.

The only thing I didn't like about the article is grouping white supremacists with white nationalists. That's the liberal media's push against nationalism, which was when Trump was promoting nationalism, and then the media tried to turn into meaning nationalist socialist to give the idea that Trump is like Hitler. Nationalism by itself is a love of country or country first mindset.

I certainly wish people of all colors would be involved with self protection. Nobody should feel they are born victims.

Well the problem is she, and now you are assuming. This is completely hypothetical.

I am just as valid to say that people look at her funny because of her eye shadow.

    Perfectly stated and sufficiently reasonable.

What’s the difference between white supremacists and white nationalists?

You don't know? White supremacists believe their race is superior. A nationalist, and the media put white with the word to make them sound similar, is a person that believes his nation is superior, not race.

Well, there’s white nationalists and there’s nationalists who happen to be white.

But yeah, the msm lumps then together. Along with white supremacists.

Did you actually here about any extremist groups called "white" nationalists before the media coined it, or was it Nazi's?

Many times "it's cause I'm black" is factually incorrect except when it’s not.

Just saying it was her personal experience. She said those looks were towards her. Not that she heard that it happened to someone else. Let’s put it like this, if you are a white guy and you go to a jazz club that typically frequented by black people, initially you might get a similar look that she gets when she went shooting. Once people see you order a drink and enjoy the music the patrons go back and focus on whatever they were doing.

It happens. She could have had a similar experience at the range.
