Other than using my phone with the Phantom 3, I haven't done much with FPV. And the Phantom isn't exactly something you want to go flying around obstacles with.

Decided to order a Micro FPV kit from Horizon Hobby and get my feet wet. Will get the Goggles and a small 1100mw camera/Tx combo. Small enough to fit some smaller planes and quad. See how it goes and if I like it I'll invest in a 600mw Immersion VTX and better camera for the bigger planes.

Got about a week of waiting for it to arrive before the fun begins.

99% sure my headset won't have the ability to record. There will be no record of my crashes.

Not sure what that picture is suppose to mean, but if anyone would like to get me a $500 headset I'd be happy to record flights.

Can get a separate recorder for about $125, but not a priority.

Probably just try to figure out what I did with my 808 camera and mount it somewhere one I get things rolling.

Been half assed trying to find my 808 keychain cam. Haven't seen it in months and it's only the size of a car door remote so it may never be found.

Which set do you have. The kit I ordered comes with the older Teleporter V4. I'm sure the newer ones are nicer, but didn't feel like paying twice as much for just the headset.

Next purchase will be an Immersion 600mw transmitter and new camera for the larger planes that can fly out a little further.

Got the goggles and micro cam/vtx today.

Played with it a little bit in the house.

Velcrod it to the 200QX which was pretty cool, then tried it on my daughters little sport cub S.

Both are pretty damn cool. The quad is a little weird in that it goes in directions you can't see. Kinda weird landing too when you can see what's under you. Did pretty good, then flew while my kids looked in the goggles. Screwed up and nicked the top of the telephone pole, quad went crazy spinning, thought it was going down but recovered somehow. My some loved it, lol.

I thought it was more relaxing on the little Sport Cub. Got the CG too far forward the first flight, was kinda scary going face first in to the earth. I might have jumped. Moved the camera back and it flew better, but was kinda wonky cause I cracked a wing in the first crash so it would randomly roll to the left or right. Need to fix that and try again. FPV landings are really cool.

Was able to go out 75 yards or so with random static. Probably could have gone 100 but not gonna push it on the first day. The random short flares of static were enough to make me turn back. Seemed to be an interference issue more than a range issue.

Gonna try it on a more stable plane next, need to get some more Velcro.

Goggles work great, camera is ok for a cheap kit and being able to slap it from one plane to the next. A little grainy and terrible contrast if there is a bright or dark area in view.

The teleporters seem fine to me. Fit good and the screen distance is dead on for me. Only thing they lack is recording ability and I can get around that cheaper than I could buy a new set.

Recording is awesome but I'd rather strap a Mobius Actioncam on and record with that. I do need to get that on order so I can get some 720p@60fps

I have an 808 cam around somewhere. Nice and small, and easy to lose.
