I didn't think to snap a pic of the register signs but after a lot of searching their website I finally found the link to Cabela's new discount policy:

    https://cabelas.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/564

And I was mistaken, it's a 5% every day policy and not 10% with special larger discounts on the certain days shown in the link.

This is a new policy that became effective August 1st of this year.

    Reading Cabela's policy, what is a "VA-recipient" ?

Probably a "Veterans Universal Access Identification" card, which is a photo ID issued by VA showing your eligibility for medical care/benefits?

Only thing I have that proves I'm a Vet in my wallet, since my TDL and CHL do not show that.

I thought the same thing, but basically all vets are eligible for medical care from the VA if they so chose.

I've not tried that discount at Cabela's but will on my next visit. I hope they have some .22 LOL

Sportsman's Outdoor Super Store offers substantial discounts on some handguns and rifles. Discounts for LEOs, military retirees, EMT, firefighters. I got a pretty good deal on my Shield there.

Indeed they are, but a Vet must first apply and, upon doing so, will be issued the ID card, which will then suffice for receiving care, travel reimbursements, etc. They have changed down through the years. Understand they no longer have a SSAN on them.

I know the process if anyone is interested and has questions. I went through it before the veteran designation on drivers licenses passed just to get an ID card.
