Where are Vortex scopes made. Heard good things about them but was curious as to where they're made.

Depends on which scope youre talking about. Most of the scopes are made in the Philippines but the razor line is made in Japan and the electronic type scopes are made in china(IIRC).

I thought that I read that their upper end scopes were made here in the US but I could be mistaken. But yes, most of them are shipped in.

Japanese glass is extremely high end. Now some of the other parts not so much maybe. Think of all the high end camera lenses, many if not most are Japanese glass and supreme quality.

All the Vortex Razors including the HD are made in Japan, just like the higher end Bushnell elite tactical line is made in Japan

Any of the Elite series scopes I've had are made in Japan. They used to be an excellent deal but have gone up a good bit over the years.
