Looks fun. Probably die mid course on my current condition.

If I can talk myself in to getting more active and I'm not on call I may try it out.

Looks like a lot of fun. Wish there were more of these.

Also noticed they offer a Sunday Sprint, but it doesn't say what the total distance is.

Looks very interesting. I was disappointed that battle road was cancelled.

Battle road was only out to 250yds, this is saying 500yds. Never shot a red dot SBR at 500yds. May take a different setup for that distance.

Sounds like an AR with 1-4X would be ideal.

I'm gonna Try to start getting out and walking. 5 miles is a pretty good hump.

Hope it has a good turnout and becomes an annual thing.

Yeah and probably 556 instead of supersonic 300BO.

May have to take Miranda's AR. But i might see where 300BO supers go at that distance.

Saw a video of a guy pushing 125gr Speer out to 1k with a 300BO.

My zero was still set at 300 for my other rifles

Oh well, I might try and see if I can get any hits. I think the issue will be if they are standard silhouette targets or smaller. And how many targets.

If it's a low target count past 50 yards I could see running a bolt gun, but still being at a disadvantage at such close range. I guess it depends on how they score hits too. Is it all or nothing, or will there actually be scoring targets, A zone, B zone, etc.

Anyone have a video of one of these things?

Here's one from the Battle Road Zombie Biathlon. Intro is way to long and got sick of the music, but might give an idea of what to expect. Or not, since this is a different organization. Should be similar though.

I found another vid that makes a bolt gun look like an even worse option.

There is similar race up in Pawnee, OK. The guy who won the 10k there in Jan 2015 did so with a bolt gun, so it's possible to do well as long as there isn't a ton of close-in stuff with multiple targets. Most people definitely do better with semi-autos though.

Btw, registration is open for the WTF race.

    This just went out:

Tickets for our next event will go on sale on November 1st at 6pm.
Register quickly, as we expect them to go even faster than they did last time!
We have gotten a lot of valuable feedback as well as data from the event. Based on all this, we plan to make a few changes. The WTF Biathlon will remain a serious challenge, more or less like it was last time in terms of difficulty level. This is done to expose weaknesses in a productive and encouraging way. For Sunday, we will take additional steps to reduce the failure rate on the obstacles and shooting stages. The Wall, our signature obstacle, will be waiting for everybody, but there will be a few different options for Sunday with reduced time penalties. We will also try our best to use slightly larger targets in some places (like the close targets on Stage 4, for example), and do a few other things to drop the DNF rate a bit. As always, we are available at WacoTacticalFitness@gmail.com to answer any questions. Looking forward to seeing everybody in April!
